Senior Internal Auditor

Large company in the Kansas City area is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join their rapidly growing organization.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

This position is responsible for performing the Internal Audit functions associated with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, Operational Audits and special projects. The position reports directly to the Director of Internal Audit.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:
  • Provide feedback and assist in development and execution of annual internal audit program
  • Test and evaluation of:
    A. Internal control systems with regard to operational efficiency, compliance with appropriate regulations and accurate and timely financial reporting
    B. Accuracy and reliability of accounting data
    C. Adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Perform special projects and investigations as required
  • Provide documentation of audit results reports that will be basis for quarterly internal audit reports to the CFO, the Disclosure Committee and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Director of Internal Audit.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require occasional business travel 10-15% of the time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • BBA/BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • CIA/CPA Designation strongly desired
  • Experience in Corporate Internal Audit Group
  • Strong GAAP, audit and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across different departments of the organization
  • Strong skills in desktop computer applications

Senior Accountant

Rapidly growing, International company is seeking a driven, success-oriented individual to become part of their expanding team. Experience with a strong public accounting foundation and a mix of audit and accounting experience for this newly created Senior Accountant role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for monthly close, year-end audit, balance sheet and expense account analysis, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, review and presentation. The Senior Accountant will also liaise with external accounting / tax firms to ensure accurately and timely filings, and identify, recommend, implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. In addition, the Senior Accountant will assume supervisory responsibilities in the near term.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years experience in both public and private practice is typically required
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA, or CIA certification desired
  • Must be computer / systems savvy with solid accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Must be high energy, resourceful, and apply critical thinking skills in solving problems
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and juggle priorities

Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for journal entries, general ledger and related financial statements for reasonableness, forecasting budget, auditing expenses and executing special projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Preparing reconciliations and year-end work papers pertaining to G/L accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial package
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare all reconciliations and year-end work papers pertaining to accounts payable
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • 2-4 years previous experience
  • Exhibited knowledge of Accounting Principles
  • Advanced PC skills, particularly with Excel

Accounting Manager

Large, growing manufacturing company looking for stellar candidate to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for applying principles and techniques of accounting to systematically process, verify, document, analyze and record financial data.
  • Maintains and interprets moderately complex financial statements and reports.
  • Complies financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, and reconciles reports and financial data.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end financial close process.
  • Perform and supervise accounting activities involving the general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts, expense reimbursements and fixed assets.
  • Works closely with Director of Finance with annual operating plan
EXPERIENCE:
  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting
  • CPA Certificate highly desired
  • 2-4 years Public Accounting Experience
  • 4-7 years Corporate Accounting Experience
  • Strong computer, excel, access skills

Manager of IT

The VP of IT will be responsible for the company’s network infrastructure, IT processes, information security programs, technology policies and production management for all proprietary products that support the business as well as the internal backend systems. Strategically, the Manager of IT will be responsible for forming the company’s future IT strategy, for managing the IT division’s operating and capital budget, and for developing the group’s organizational and staffing plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides dayy-to-day management as well as strategic vision for various technology projects.
  • Request/initiation process, project plan creation, time/cost estimates, prioritization of competing projects, management of project scope and coordinates delivery.
  • Listens to customer/client requirements and translates business needs into technical solutions.
  • Establishes and implements project management processes in collaboration with ourside IT consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and are functioning effectively.
  • Provides project leadership as well as professional and analytical expertise to projects.
  • Articulates project status to internal and external users.
  • Manage department’s annual operating budget.
  • Manage vendor relationships, champion key negotiations and master service agreements.
  • Resolve technical problems quickly and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain highest level of customer service orientation and satisfaction.
  • Designs and delivers training as needed for both internal and external users.
  • Ensure IT system operation adhere to applicable laws, regulations and audits.
  • Establish technology standards applied throughout the company.
  • Coordinate the evaluation, purchase, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems.
  • Manage enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Oversee relationships with external regulatory and partner organizations.
  • Maintain high level of security practices and compliance. Support enforcement of policy and procedures to ensure the protection of enterprise IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information.
  • Contribute to executive level strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with corporate executives and legal department to create and rollout corporate wide policies.
  • This is a hands on position, ideal candidate is someone who is not affraid to roll up their sleeves and step in as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 7-12 years professional level work expereince, previous experience in the laboratory, clinical information systems or University/Schooling field a major plus.
  • Must have proven experience managing a technology project from inception through completion.
  • Must have experience in building partnerships with business heads. This includes identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help maximize business goals.
  • Must have experience in building trusting relationships. This includes using appropriate interpersonal styles to establish effective relationships with customers and internal partners; interacting with others in a way that promotes openness and trust and gives them confidence in one’s intentions.
  • Must have experience in high impact communications – This includes clearly and succinctly conveying information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of situations; communicating in a focused and compelling way that drives others’ thoughts and actions.
  • Must have experience as a business advisor – this includes adding customer equity by creating valued business partnerships with both internal and external customers; proactively identifying business opportunities for both internal and external customers; conveying a firm understanding of the customer’s business drivers; taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Must have experience implementing industry standard security certifications and audits.
  • Polished executive presence with informal, approachable style.

Plant Controller

DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
  • Responsible for all financial reporting, tax packages, internal controls and standard cost accounting
  • PRepare all financial reprots, trial balance forecasts, profit and expense statements, and other reports supporting cost control
  • Communicate with all department managers in order to complete daily, weekly, monthly and year-end reports for operations and division management
  • Assist in strategy development in the operation to ensure financial integrity
  • Organize financial vision and strategies that are in alignment with the overall strategic direction of the corporation and in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain adequate risk management-based internal controls
  • Provide business analysis on trends, issues, and developments that could impact the operation
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in a senior level Controller/Plant Controller role, plant experience a must
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills and proven aptitude for numbers
  • Proven problem solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the Plant location in a professional manner and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
